FRom the NY Times this morning..... they are running a whole series of articles on Twitter...
Like Facebook and Apple with its iPhone, San Francisco-based Twitter has successfully captured the attention and energies of third-party developers, who have unleashed a wave of both practical and trivial applications that work with it.
We have chronicled a few this week, not because these particular Twitter tools are going to take over the world, but because they speak to the larger wave of innovation that is making the service much more than the sum of its parts.
So here’s another one that caught our eye: Tweetmas. The app, developed by the London-based Crowdstorm, allows Twitter users to tell their followers what is on their wish lists for the holidays. The full article at the New York Times is here.
To add to this poignant collection of holiday wishes, users simply post to Twitter with the command @tweetmas. The request will flow to their friends and appear on the Tweetmas site for all the world to see and puzzle over.
