Got mud flaps?

As if getting the John Cotton Dana Award for their campaign wasn't enough, my friends over at Wyoming have added the mud flap girl to the campaign. The thing I love about the whole campaign is that they have tapped into the personalities of their customers. The mud flap girl isn't going to make sense everywhere but in Wyoming, where they actually have mud flaps, it works. Good marketing speaks to your audience.

I thought the mudflap ad was terrific. As a marketer from a for profit company, who now works or a library, I am amazed at how reluctant and protective some librarians are to really understand their customers. ( I might add that customers isn't a term some librarians like). Kudos to the team that allowed marketing to talk to their market in their terms!

I like most of the campaign, but if you knew what the original saying on the mudflap was, you wouldn't be so enthusiastic. :-/

This mudflaps seems interesting to me...and is indeed a good sense of marketing...
