This Picture Is Worth 1,000 Words

Look at this new infographic that's just out from StateStats.org. It was created in conjunction with the ALA and the IMLS. It tells so many stories about today's libraries, including both their successes and their needs.

I hope you'll share it widely---on your library's website, with your Friends and Trustees, your local and state associations, your city and county managers, and other stakeholders and voters. You can find the original here

I especially like that it has linked sources at the bottom. So if someone tries to challenge one of these facts, you can go right to the source and show them the full info. (And you'll also be showing them how great librarians operate---based on facts with cites!)

Wow, that is some infographic. Thanks for sharing Kathy.

Love the message but it is sooooo long. I would have liked to see it edited into sections- I had to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the bottom and never really got the big picture.

I agree. I would like this is printable sections; there is so much good information to share.

Would also be useful to have separate graphics--one targeted to public administrators, and one for the public targeted to volunteers

I was thinking that too--it's great, but there's sooo much info that it's overwhelming. I'll pass the feedback along to the org that created this and see if they might break it into sections.
