Free Comic Day is coming May 5

Meanwhile registrations for the Super Librarian Free Comic Book Day closed on Friday and now we'll be working with Diamond Comics to set up the partnerships between local stores and libraries. If you are a NJ library and want to participate and haven't submitted your information, send me a quick email to me (ndowd@njstatelib.org) early Monday with your name, address, library, phone and I'll get you on the list. More information is on the NJYAC page.
To catch everyone up on the comic book ... Two absolutely talented librarians, David Lisa and Manny Rosca, wrote a fantastic script from the original back story submitted by Sharon Scaife.
Wait until you read this, they worked really hard and the result is wonderful. It promotes librarians with just the right mix of action and humor. I'll be talking more about these two incredibly talented individuals as we progress with the campaign.
We also had it translated into Spanish and are printing it in two languages. It is on its way to the printers as we speak. We are so excited to launch it on Free Comic Book Day with comic book stores and libraries throughout NJ giving it out as part of the activities. AND to add to all the fun, we'll be launching the YouTube/Comic drawing contest.
The NYC Comic Con is going on this weekend. If you missed it, Mary from Pimp My Library has written some thoughts from her visit on her blog.
